Warzone Fans Want Modern Warfare Playlist to Avoid OP Vanguard Guns

Vanguard guns are completely overpowered in the current Warzone Season 4 meta, and fans want a return to Modern Warfare.

When Warzone first launched in March 2020, it was a fresh and fun experience, full of new guns to try out and a meta to discover. For a while there, players just used whatever they felt like, as the game’s balance was relatively solid.

Of course, eventually, the meta did begin to revolve around the best weapons. We had the M4A1 spike in popularity, followed swiftly by the Grau, and even the MP5.

But even in those times, other weapons were more than usable. However, things began falling apart as Cold War and Vanguard became integrated into the Battle Royale, and Activision suddenly had a financial incentive to make the newer guns meta.

In the current era of Warzone, the meta is dominated by OP Vanguard guns with an insanely high pick rate. And now fans long to return to the days when Warzone only had Modern Warfare weapons to contend with.

Warzone Needs a Modern Warfare Guns Only Playlist, Claim Players

Could a Modern Warfare guns only playlist be the solution to Warzone Season 4’s meta issue?

In countless popular posts on the Warzone subreddit, fans have demanded that Raven Software remove older guns entirely. But a new popular suggestion could pose a solution to the increasingly-heavy Vanguard meta.

Right now, this broken attachment is giving Vanguard weapons insane movement speed. And with those guns already boasting lower TTKs and less recoil than MW and BOCW weaponry, it makes using WW2 guns a no-brainer.

In fact, of the top 5 Assault Rifles in Warzone Season 4, only 1 doesn’t belong to Call of Duty Vanguard. But what if there was a playlist that removed all Vanguard guns from the game?

We know this sort of thing is possible. After all, Vanguard Royale dropped alongside Caldera’s launch and offered players a lobby filled only with era-appropriate guns.

So why can’t we get a Modern Warfare, or indeed Cold War-only playlist, at least as a Limited Time Mode?

The obvious answer is that Activision wants to push sales of its new title instead of its older ones. As it is, more and more players are probably picking up a copy of Vanguard just to grind for weapon levels.

Warzone 2.0 Will Return to Modern Warfare Weapons Only

The good news is that Warzone 2 will finally return to just Modern Warfare weapons from the upcoming MW2!

We should all try and enjoy the meta there while we can, and thankfully we’ll be using nothing but Modern Warfare 2 guns for 2 years before any other integration arrives.

But it’s not all good news where Warzone 2 is concerned. After all, players are upset that Warzone 2.0 is also coming to last-gen consoles.
